MAPUSA/RAIA: Pilerne SC ended their campaign of the Goa Football Association Division I League match on a winning note as they registered a hard-fought 3-2 win over Chapora Yuvak Sangh at Duler Stadium, here, on Sunday.

The teams were locked in a 1-1 draw at the breather with Darshan Pujari opening Pilerne SC account in the 21st minute only to see Chadel Fernandes level terms for Chapora YS six minutes later, 1-1.

On crossing ends, once again in the 55th minute, Pilerne SC surged ahead through Ignatius D’Silva goal with Chapora YS’s Cain Fernandes finding the net, 2-2.

Pilerne SC’s supporters jumped into celebration as Dewang Shirgaonkar scored the match winning goal.

With this win, Pilerne SC have 10 points, while Chapora YS still stays second in the league table with 15 points.

In other matches, St Savio’s SC got the better of Nuvem Sports Club 5-1 at SAG ground, Benaulim.

Leading by 4-0 at the breather, Regan Costa scored a brace, while Karan Rao Maratha, Pedro Gonsalves and Godwin Da Costa scored a goal each for St Savio’s SC. The only goal for Nuvem SC was scored by Rohish Gawade.

At Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, St Anthony’s SC, Marna-Siolim defeated Sao Jose de Areal SC 3-0.

All the three goals were scored in the second session through substitutes Vipul Pednekar, Siddhant Shirodkar and Nathan D’Souza.
