The Premier League has officially opened a new office in Mumbai, marking a major step in its ongoing efforts to promote football and strengthen ties with fans, partners, and football authorities in India. This expansion aims to support the growth of football across the country at both grassroots and elite levels.

The Premier League has been active in India since 2007 through its Premier Skills programme, run in collaboration with the British Council, which has trained over 7,300 coaches, referees, and educators and positively impacted 124,000 young people across more than 18 states.

Since 2014, the League has also partnered with the Indian Super League (ISL) to share best practices in governance, coaching, youth development, and refereeing. In 2019, it launched the Next Gen Cup, an international U-19 tournament developed in association with the ISL and Reliance Foundation. The upcoming sixth edition will be held in Mumbai in May 2025, featuring ISL youth teams and U-19 squads from Premier League clubs.

Opening this office marks a significant milestone. It will allow us to operate more effectively locally, building on our existing work to engage fans, support the development of football, and collaborate with partners like JioStar and the ISL.

Premier League CEO Richard Masters

The Mumbai office emphasizes the League's strategic focus on deepening local engagement and further contributing to India’s football ecosystem.
