RAIA: Parish Youth Nuvem scored a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Sporting Club of Davorlim in the inaugural match to move into the quarter-finals of Curtorim Villagers Cup organised by Curtorim Gymkhana at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Sunday.
Parish Youth Nuvem scored the first goal through Albino Pereira in the 15th minute to make it 1-0. SC Davorlim equalised through a penalty kick in the 20th minute when Milton Colaco was brought down by Parish Youth Nuvem defender. Milton Colaco converted to make it 1-1 at the end of first half.
After resumption of play, Parish Youth Nuvem could have scored but Senroy Rodrigues missed the easy sitter. PY Nuvem scored the match winner through Francisco Colaco in the 50th minute to make it 2-1.
SC Davorlim tried their best to equalise but PY Nuvem defended well till the final whistle. St Alex Church Parish Priest Fr Manuel Dias was the chief Guest for the inaugural match.
