RAIA: In a thrilling showdown filled with passion and sportsmanship, Rachol Seminarians emerged victorious against the Pilar Seminarians, clinching the prestigious Ven Fr Agnelo Fellowship Football Cup 2025 with a narrow 1-0 win at the Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol ground, recently.
The annual traditional encounter drew an enthusiastic crowd, including the rectors and staff of both seminaries, who witnessed an intense yet friendly display of football excellence.
The decisive moment came through a spectacular goal by Abraham Fernandes of Rachol Seminary, who sealed the fate of the match with his composed finish. Adding to Rachol’s triumph, Luis Rodrigues was awarded the best goalkeeper for his outstanding saves throughout the match.
Despite the defeat, Pilar Seminary’s Robinson Pacheco was recognised as the player-of-the-match, showcasing commendable skill and determination on the field.
The match, rooted in tradition and fraternity, was marked by unity, encouragement and team spirit. Hosted this year by the Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol, the event once again reinforced the strong bond between the two seminaries through the medium of sport.
