RAIA: In a high scoring match of the 52nd Custodio memorial football tournament, hosts Raia Sporting Club outplayed Dramapur SC 5-3 to enter the quarter-finals at Raia panchayat ground, on Sunday.
Garrison Fernandes opened the scoreline for Raia SC in the 3rd minute, while Velrose equalised for Dramapur SC in the 20th minute of play. At the breather, both teams remained 1-1 draw.
As the match entered into the second session, Raia SC scored through Leran Dias with a beautiful header that crushed into the net in the 38th minute of play. Later in the 42nd minute, Dramapur SC equalised through Om Raikar with neat placement.
Then Dramapur inflated the lead in the 44th minute when Sario Gomes beat the rival goalkeeper with a neat placement.
As the match progressed, Raia SC mounted pressure on Dramapur SC and they succeed by equalising in the 47th minute by Jhonson Gaukar. In the last quarter, Raia SC got a penalty kick as goalkeeper brought down their forward in the danger area and Achilles Fernandes converted the penalty kick in the 63rd minute.
In the injury time, Raia SC sealed the fate of Dramapur SC by scoring the fifth goal through substitute Oilex Oliveira in the 70+5 minute of play.
