RAIA: Ronaldo Pereira’s brace helped Navelim Villagers Union to outplay Parish Youth Nuvem 3-2 in the first semi-final to move into the final of United Trophy organised by United Club Telaulim, at the Rosary Church ground, Navelim, on Sunday.
Parish Youth Nuvem open the scoreline through Joywin Costa in 10th minute, while Clifton Niasso of Navelim Villagers Union powerful shoot found the net and the equaliser. Parish Youth Nuvem Shenoy Colaco scored from the box and remained 2-1 ahead at the half time.
After resumption of play, Navelim Villagers Union kept on attacking the Parish Youth Nuvem’s defence and yield fruits when Ronaldo scored twice in the 33rd and 51st minute to complete his brace and seal the fate of Parish Youth Nuvem to a book place in the final.
Ronaldo Pereira of Navelim Villagers Union was adjudged as the man-of-the-match, which was presented by Romeo, president of United Club Telaulim.
