Rosary College of Commerce & Arts win Taekwondo Women’s C’ship

TALEIGAO PLATEAU: Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Navelim, won the Inter-Collegiate Taekwondo Women’s Championship 2025-26 organised by Goa University at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Goa University campus, here, recently.

VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, Margao, and Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Khandola, claimed the joint runners-up position.

Best taekwondo player of the championship was awarded to Sirijana Thapa of Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Navelim.

Chief guest for the presentation ceremony was College Director of Physical education and Sports, Rosary college, Navelim, Dr Francis Lobo, and guest of honour Taekwondo Coach Theofile Lowe, along with Assistant Director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University Balachandra Jadar graced the occasion, and presented the medals and trophies to the winners and runners-up.

Event wise results: Upto and including 46kg - Sirijana Thapa (gold, Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim), Riya Castanha (silver, PG Goa University), Jewela Colaco (bronze, Don Bosco College, Panjim), Riya Pereira (bronze, Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim).

Upto and including 49kg - Swaroopa Redkar (gold, Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim), Saloni Rawal (silver, PES Ravi S Naik College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi), Aadi Fatrekar (bronze PES Ravi S Naik College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi), Shraddha Parab (bronze, Dempo Charities Trust’s Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College of Commerce & Economics, Cujira-Bambolim).

Upto and including 53kg - Priyanka Vishwakarma (gold, Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Khandola), Nayna Sahu (silver, Goa College of Home Science), Sweeny Fernandes (bronze, Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim), Varada Natekar (bronze, VM Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar).
