RAIA: Shiroda YC registered a 2-0 victory over Cuncolim Union to storm into the quarter-finals of the 46th St Joseph Festival football tournament played at Dramapur ground, on Friday.
Both goals came in the opening half, leaving Cuncolim Union struggling to recover. The breakthrough arrived in the 16th minute when Royston Vaz coolly converted from the penalty spot after a Cuncolim Union defender brought down an attacker inside the box.
Shiroda YC doubled their advantage in the 28th minute through Sanchelo Fernandes with a neat finish to provide his side a comfortable cushion.
Despite Cuncolim Union’s efforts to fight back in the second half, Shiroda YC’s defence held firm to secure their quarter-final spot.
