TALEIGAO: Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Government College of Arts and Commerce, Pernem, captured the Goa University inter-collegiate kabaddi men’s championship 2025-26 with a resounding 59-32 victory over St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium.
In the semi-finals, the champions eased past Goa University’s PG team 49-24, while St Xavier’s overcame MES Vasant Joshi College of Arts and Commerce, Zuarinagar, 47-32. A total of 25 men’s teams participated in the competition.
The best player award went to Piyush Choudhary of St Xavier’s College.
Medals and trophies were presented by chief guest Prof Juao Costa, Principal of Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye College, along with guest of honour Pandurang Naik, College Director of Physical Education and Sports, Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar, Yogesh Sawal, kabaddi coach of Sports Authority of Goa, Tanvesh Vengurlekar, physical education teacher, Dr KB Hedgewar School, Ponda and Balachandra Jadar, assistant director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University.
