MARGAO: The VMCL Scorpions extended their unbeaten streak with a commanding 91-run win over VMCL Blasters in the MCC Ferdinand Coelho Memorial VMCL 3 T20 Tournament at the MCC Ground, Margao.
Opting to bat after losing the toss, the Scorpions posted a solid 155 for 9 in their 20 overs. Jude Cardozo anchored the innings with 29, while Iftikar Agha (32) and Sandeep Dalal (20) added crucial runs in the middle order. Balkrishna Hodarkar was the standout bowler for the Blasters, finishing with figures of 5 for 24, including two wickets in the final over.
In reply, the Blasters collapsed to 64 all out in 11.3 overs, with only Sudeep Narayan (17) and Sanjay Netravalkar (12) showing any resistance. Prakash Kunde and Dr Satyesh Kamat picked up two wickets each, supported by Sudesh Rane and Rasik Pai Khot with timely strikes. The Scorpions also impressed in the field, with two sharp stumpings by wicketkeeper Jude Cardozo.
Jude Cardozo was named man-of-the-match for his all-round contribution, presented by Dr Sudhir Shet.
