MAPUSA/RAIA: Siddeshwar Sports and Cultural Club outclassed Sirsaim Sports and Cultural Centre 3-1 in the GFA Third Division League Bardez Zone Group B clash at Assonora ground on Thursday.
Akash Varak opened the scoring to give Siddeshwar a slender half-time lead. On resumption, Mayur Ghadi doubled the advantage before Rudresh Naik converted from the penalty spot to make it 3-0. Sirsaim’s Rohit Parsekar struck late, but it proved no more than a consolation.
At Moira grounds, United Ucassaim SC were awarded a walkover after Laxmi Prasad SC failed to report for the match.
In the Salcete zone, United Club of Benaulim defeated Dando Boys Club Benaulim, 2-0, at St John the Baptist ground. After a goalless first half, Keegan Fernandes broke the deadlock in the 60th minute, while Santan Manuel Dias added a second in the 76th.
Meanwhile, at Varca ground, Varca Sports Club powered to a 4-1 win over St Anthony Club Colva. Landan Mendonca stole the show with a hat-trick, supported by Macklin Charles Mascarenhas, while Riston Gomes netted the only goal for St Anthony.
