MAPUSA: In a thrilling encounter, Sinquirim FC outplayed Augusta Sports Club, Pomburpa, via a tie-breaker after both teams finished at 1-1 at the end of regulation time in the Calangute Association Cup inter-village football tournament played at Poriat ground, Calangute.
Saimesh Gaonkar found the net for Sinquirim SC, while Pundalic Hadfodker equalised for Augusta SC.
Despite intense efforts from both sides, the match remained deadlocked, pushing the contest into a dramatic penalty shoot-out. Sinquirim FC showcased composure under pressure and triumphed to seal the win.
