PANJIM: Akanksha Salunke reached into the final of squash tournament beating Pooja Aarthi from Tamil Nadu.
She beat Pooja in three straight games 11-2, 11-7, 11-5 and will face off against Anjali Shemwal of Maharashtra for the gold medal. The coach Pintoo Rai said her performance was of a very good standard and that he was expecting a very good result in the finals.
Sgrungi drops out of 100m backstroke
Goan swimmer Shrungi Bandekar dropped out of the 100 metres backstroke final because she was not feeling well. She was feeling much better later in the day and was present for practice in the evening.
She will now participate in the 200 metres individual medley and the coach Deepak Chetri feels she will do well because she came 4th in the 400 individual medley. He said he expected her to do something really good on Monday. The swimming comes to an end today.
