RAIA: St Anne’s Institute, Agonda, and Regina Marytrum High School, Assolna, move ahead in the Sir Jawaharlal Da Costa inter-school football tournament organised by the United Sports Club of Seraulim, at Seraulim ground, on Friday.
In the U-14 girls matches, St Anne’s Institute defeated Manovikas High School, Margao, 2-1. Guryneth Fernandes and Anishka Gaonkar scored for St Anne’s. Jeselyn Fernandes reduced the margin for Manovikas HS.
St Jude HS, Betalbatim, got the better of Fr Agnelo Multipurpose High School, Verna, 1-0. The all-important goal came through the boots of Alisha Indwar
In the U-14 boys matches, Loyola HS, Margao, defeated St Anthony High School, Majorda, 3-1. Joseph D’Costa scored a brace and a goal from Saeesh Kotankar sealed the fate of St Anthony School. Prem Yadav reduced the margin for St Anthony School.
Regina Martyrum HS defeated Fr Agnelo Multipurpose High School, Verna, 3-2 via tie-breaker after both teams were tied in a 1-1 draw. Vollan Coutinho and Vijay Kumar scored for their respective schools Regina Martyrum and Fr Agnelo Multipurpose.
Manovikas High School, Margao, downed Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda, 3-0, in a one sided match. Ruel Barretto, Eric Telles and Meaden Pereira scored for Manovikas HS.
St Jude HS, Betalbatim, made easy work of Holy Spirit High School, Margao, 2-0. Shiva Indwer scored a brace for St Jude HS. Marina English High School, Verna, scored a convincing 2-0 victory against Mae Dos Pobres, Nuvem. Dylan D’Souza and Parth Dessai scored for Marina English HS.
In the U-12 boys matches, Loyola High School, Margao, moved past Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda, 2-1. Nathan Afonso and Karth D’Silva scored for Loyola HS. Jaswalt Fernandes reduced the margin for Our Lady of Rosary HS.
Manovikas HS had to sweat it out to pip St Anne’s Institute 1-0. The victory goal came from Alister Pereira. Mae Dos Pobres High School, Nuvem, defeated St Anthony School, Majorda, 2-0. Jerell Pereira and Jonathon Fernandes scored for Mae Dos Pobres HS.
In the second round, Loyola HS scored a narrow 1-0 win against Fr Agnel Multipurpose, Verna. Jesuslee Fernandes scored the goal.
