RAIA: Succor Fernandes of St Anthony SC, Assolda, scored in the injury time to outplay Peddem Bomm Sporting Club 2-1 to enter into the quarter-finals of 52nd Custodio memorial football tournament organised by Raia Sporting Club at panchayat ground, Raia.
St Anthony SC netted the first goal in the 47th minute through Moises D’Sa placed the ball into the net beating the defence and goalkeeper. But the joy was short-lived as Peddem Bomm’s Santosh Bhulan shot deflected the St Anthony SC defence and entered into the net in the 49th minute of play to level score 1-1.
The all-important goal came when St Anthony SC substitute veteran striker Succor went into play. Then Moises gave cross pass to Succor who headed home into the far corner of the net in the injury time to seal the fate of Peddem Bomm SC.
