RAIA: St Anthony’s Sports Club, Assolda, pipped United Boys of Dando, Colva, 4-3, via tie-breaker to book a spot in the quarter-finals of 14th Super Soccer inter-village football tournament organised by United Club of Benaulim at the St John de Baptista ground, Benaulim, on Monday.
A youthful United Boys of Dando took the lead in the 37th minute through midfielder Terrance Fernandes, who found the net past St Anthony’s Sports Club goalkeeper Oswin Rodrigues.
However, St Anthony’s Sports Club came back strong after the break, levelling the score through Dryen Fernandes, who converted a pass from Joaquim Carvalho. In the tense tie-breaker, Valentino Carvalho, Joaquim Carvalho and Akram Yadwad scored for St Anthony’s Sports Club, while only Riston Gomes and Clayton Fernandes managed to convert for United Boys of Dando.
