PANJIM: St Anthony's SC, Marna- Siolim, defeated PVC Association 3-1 and booked a place in the semi-finals of 23rd Vagator Soccer at Vagator Parish Youth Sports Club ground, Wednesday.
PVC Association missed to capitalize on a couple of chances in the opening minutes. Following a diagonal pass by Floyd Pereira, Veron Pereira shot over.
Saideep Pomburpekar of St Anthony's SC delivered a cross from the right but Pushparaj Mandrekar couldn't connect it. In the 24th minute, St Anthony's took the lead when a floater from Saideep Pomburpekar found his teammate Kashiram Pomburpekar who slotted the ball home. Without wasting much time St Anthony's doubled their lead in the 26th minute as Kashiram Pomburpekar being the provider this time. He squared to his skipper Dalesh Pednekar who neatly placed it past the rival goalkeeper.
Following a corner in the 37th minute, St. Anthony's Vipul Pednekar saw Pushparaj Mandrekar's volley being saved by goalkeeper Nitesh Narvekar.
PVC Association managed to pull one back in the 54th minute as Waldron Martins floated a through ball to Floyd Pereira who converted it.
In the final minute, a free kick taken by St Anthony's SC Vipul Pednekar saw Dalesh Pednekar connecting it.
The man-of-the match prize was awarded to Dalesh Pednekar of St. Anthony's by Dinesh Patil.
