St Savio’s SC sail into quarters

MAPUSA: St Savio’s Sports Club, Calangute, sailed into the quarter-finals of Assonora United Super Soccer tournament with a convincing 5-1 victory over St Anthony’s Sports Club, Marna-Siolim, at Assonora ground, on Tuesday.

Fasel D’Souza opened the floodgates for St Savio in the 10th minute of the match after a one, two with Richard. Tanay Shirodkar doubled the lead in the 25th minute with a deft placement to the right of the goalkeeper.

St Savio’s Sports Club led 2-0 at the lemon break.

In the second half, St Savio’s Sports Club dominated the match and pumped in three more goals through Pedro, Richard and Dominic to complete the route. Brandon Pereira reduced the margin for St Anthony’s SC.
