RAIA: St Sebastian Youth Club, Fatorda, edged past Betalbatim Sports Club 2-1 to secure semi-finals spot in the 23rd Fr Basilio Andrade memorial tournament at Musson ground, Majorda, on Monday.
St Sebastian YC wasted no time capitalising on the miss, Edgar Noronha dribbled past two defenders before delivering a precise low cross to Wedley Baretto, who tapped the ball in at the far post to open an account.
Betalbatim SC’s Asher Afonso equalised in the 46th minute. St Sebastian YC doubled the lead in the 60th minute.
Earlier, Social and Cultural Club Loutolim, cruised into the semi-finals with a commanding 3-0 win over United Club of Verna. Social and Cultural Club Loutolim’s Ignatius D’Silva netted the first goal of the match in the 23rd minute.
Crossing over, Social and Cultural Club Loutolim doubled their lead through the efforts of Ignatius, who netted from a close range to complete his brace.
United Club of Verna desperate to find a way back into the game, created openings but failed to convert, with Roydon Rego and Aniston D'Silva both missing golden opportunities.
Shelford Fernandes of Social and Cultural Club Loutolim netted the third goal in the 56th minute.
