MAPUSA: Ten-man Sinquerim SC outplayed Goa Velha SC 2-0 to move into the next round of Saligao Super Soccer 2025 organised by Saligao United, at Vagator ground, on Tuesday.
Sinquerim SC took the lead in the 30th minute when Krish Naroji found himself in a good position to loft the ball over the Goa Velha SC goalkeeper Sujal Palkar.
In the second half, in the 45th minute, Sinquerim SC were reduced to 10-man as Prabhakar Maulinkar the last man in the defence was shown a direct red card as he denied Goa Velha SC’s striker from a goal scoring opportunity.
Sinquerim SC even though being a man down didn't hesitate and doubled their lead within no time with a quick counter attack from the right wing leading to a defensive error from the Goa Velha SC defender to find Rama Parwar in the box to slot it in.
Goa Velha SC players were not able to capitalise on the chances being created in the final minutes of the match being a man up.
