RAIA: In a thrilling semi-final clash of the 3rd Fr Bruno Leitao memorial inter-village football tournament, United Boys Ambaulim secured their place in the final with a commanding 2-0 win over Guardian Angels SC.
UB Ambaulim got off to a flying start, taking the lead in the 6th minute through Sowell Fernandes, who slotted the ball home with composure. Guardian Angels SC responded by increasing their attacking intensity in search of an equaliser, but the resolute UB Ambaulim defence held firm to preserve their lead going into half-time.
The second half saw, UB Ambaulim doubling their advantage just one minute after the restart, as Bradley Carvalho found the back of the net with a well-placed finish.
Despite persistent efforts from Guardian Angels SC to claw their way back into the match, the UB Ambaulim’s solid defensive line ensured they kept a clean sheet.
