RAIA/MAPUSA: The GFA Third Division league produced a goal glut across the Salcete and Bardez zones on Tuesday, with United Ucassaim SC registering an 11-0 demolition, while UB Dando Colva, St Rock’s YS Majorda and UC Verna also claimed full points.
At Moira grounds, United Ucassaim SC ran rampant against El Shaddai Sports & Cultural Club. Aryan Salunke was unstoppable, netting six goals, while Anson Pereira, Savio Fernandes, Pratik, Saurabh Gawde and Ritekesh Mapsekar completed the rout.
At Siolim, Vintage 73 SC defeated Sodiem Siolim Sports & Cultural Club 3-1. Siddha Mandrekar, Anthony Lobo and Valancio Fernandes were on target for Vintage, with Srikant Sawant netting the consolation for Sodiem.
At Duler stadium, FC Siolim held Sai Avtar SC Anjuna to a 1-1 draw. Yash Morajkar gave Anjuna the lead before Vipul Pednekar equalised for Siolim.
In Salcete, UB Dando Colva edged Dando Boys Club 1-0 at Benaulim through an 81st-minute strike by substitute Aldrich Fernandes. At Varca, St Rock’s YS Majorda secured a 1-0 win over Varca SC via Ashley Patrick Mendes’ 51st-minute effort.
UC Verna were the day’s other big scorers, thrashing Arlem Youth Association 8-1 at Raia panchayat ground. Mogalise Rathod and Roydon Rego bagged braces, with Dadapeer Patil, Joasle Fernandes, Millson Barreto and Daniel Crus also finding the net. Movin Gauncar struck Arlem’s lone reply as Verna led 3-1 at the break before running away with the game.
