RAIA: Uguem Rising defeated Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, 6-5 via tie-breaker to enter the quarter-finals of 41st Sao Jose de Areal Panchayat inter-village football tournament organised by Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club at Padribhat ground, Sao Jose de Areal.
After a barren full session, Lawren, Seivieo, Milfred, Macson, Austin and Aron netted for Uguem Rising, while Roque, Cliff, Hanslum, Alfred and Edgar netted for Don Bosco Oratory in the resultant tie-breaker.
Uguem Rising’s Sailesh Gaoncar received the man-of-the-match award from Sarpanch Carmona Fernandes of Sao Jose de Areal.
Earlier, Fr Agnel YSC, Paroda, got the better of Carmona SC 7-6 via tie-breaker to enter the quarter-finals.
Both teams were tied 2-2 at the full session. Aswin and Joy netted for Fr Agnel YSC, while Rohan and Dezwin scored a goal each for Carmona SC.
In the ensuing tiebreaker, Melson, Kanchan, Pascoal, Macloyd and Melwin scored for Fr Agnel YSC; while Wilbur, Stanford, Dezwin and Asley scored for Carmona SC.
