RAIA: USC Seraulim Veterans moved past Colva Veterans 4-1 to enter the quarter-finals of Seraulim Veterans Football Cup organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim at church ground, Seraulim, on Friday.
Seraulim Veterans opened the account in the 22nd minute of play when Jess ran down the left flank after receiving a pass from Sandip Shanke and shot from close range giving no chance to the goalkeeper Denzil Dias under the Colva Veterans goal.
Just two minutes later, Steven scored from inside the box the second goal after receiving a pass from Sohan Da Costa. At half time, the score read 2-0 in favour of USC Seraulim Veterans.
Steven further increased the lead for USC Seraulim Veterans in the 31st minute when he dribbled past a couple of defenders to score his second goal and give USC Seraulim Veterans a commanding lead of 3-0. Jess then scored his second goal after he received a pass from Vinod Naik, dribbled the defender and then the goal keeper to slot home to make it 4-0 in the 46th minute. Jose Fernandes reduced the margin for Colva Veterans to take the final score to 4-1 in favour of USC Seraulim Veterans.
