RAIA: Vasco Veterans triumph over Surprise Veterans 3-1 in a tense penalty shoot-out to secure a place in the quarter-finals of All-Goa 50+ 8-a-side veterans football tournament organised by the UK Goans Dynamic Group, at Dando ground, Benaulim, on Monday.
The match was largely dominated by Vasco Veterans in the first half, but despite their control, they were unable to find the back of the net.
The second half saw a more balanced contest, with both teams sharing possession but failing to break the deadlock.
With no goals scored at the end of regular time, the game was decided by tie-breaker, where Vasco Veterans emerged as the more composed side, converting their penalties to seal the victory, 3-1.
