PANJIM: Xetrapal Sports Club cruised to a 3-1 victory over Sai Avtar Sports Club in the GFA Division III League, at Mandrem Panchayat ground, on Wednesday.
Xetrapal SC’s standout performer Vipul Pednekar netted a brace, while Raunak Toraskar also got his name on the scoresheet to secure the win.
Sai Avtar SC’s only response came through Dadapir Adoor.
Sai Avtar SC made an explosive start, with Adoor netting within the first minute to give his side an early lead. However, Xetrapal SC quickly regrouped, taking control of the midfield. Their efforts were rewarded when Pednekar fired home to level the match before halftime.
The second half saw Xetrapal SC relentlessly pressuring their opponents. Pednekar found the net again in the 70th minute to complete his double, and Toraskar sealed the victory with a late strike, confirming Xetrapal SC’s 3-1 triumph.
