RAIA: Vivon Costa and Levito Dias, Samford Da Silva, Cassius Fernandes emerge champions in the carrom, table tennis and badminton respectively in the indoor youth sports tournament organised by Tilamola Parish at the Our Lady Mother of the Poor High School sports hall, Tilamola, recently.

In the carrom event, officiated by Vivon Costa, Levito Dias clinched the winner’s title, while Joshua Gomes finished as the runner-up. The table tennis matches, overseen by Fr Aldrin D’Costa saw Samford Da Silva take the top spot, with Esban Fernandes coming in second. The badminton event, officiated by Ivon Coutinho, concluded with Cassius Fernandes emerging as the winner and Preston Fernandes as the runner-up.

The tournament was not only a celebration of athletic talent but also aimed at fostering unity, healthy competition and fellowship among the youth. It provided a platform to build friendships, showcase skills and strengthen bonds within the parish community.

The tournament featured spirited competitions in carrom, table tennis, and badminton, bringing out the energy, talent and sportsmanship of the young participants.

The event was graced by Franky Fernandes as the chief guest. A special highlight of the day was an exhibition table tennis match that drew loud cheers and eager anticipation. The match saw Fr Aldrin D’Costa and Fr Denrish D’Costa face off against Franky Fernandes and Fr Aidan Fernandes, under the watchful eye of official Reagan Costa. The latter team emerged victorious in a match that blended friendly rivalry with excellent skill.

The tournament wrapped up with a trophy distribution ceremony, recognising the efforts and achievements of all participants, followed by a heartfelt vote of thanks. The event proved to be not just a celebration of athleticism, but also a beautiful expression of unity and youth engagement within the parish community.
