MAPUSA: Xetrapal Sports Club, Oxel, registered a 6-5 win via tie-breaker over hosts Assonora United in the semi-final to book final berth in the Assonora United Super Soccer Cup football played at Assonora ground, on Thursday.
Both the teams dished out an exciting football and Kunal Salgaonkar drew first blood for Assonora United in the 15th minute of play to put his team 1-0 up. But Kunal's goal was overshadowed by a gem of a goal a la Ronaldo style a bicycle kick by Gaurav Vaingankar to put his team on level terms 1-1.
With the match ending in a 1-1 draw, tie-breaker was enforced to decide the winner.
Xetrapal SC edged out Assonora United 5-4. Mayuresh, Claudia, Gaurav, Chandrakant and Prakash scored from the spot for Xetrapal SC, while only Kunal, Satyam, Projot and Sahil could score for Assonora United.
Xetrapal SC will now meet Nerul Sports Club in the final.
