If we remain in the now, we are open to enjoying all that is given to us as gift during the day. We experience to the fullest the joy and sadness, laughter and pain, dismay and hope, beauty and ugliness all wrapped up as gift in the present moment. That is why in the now we rise when we rise, we pray when we pray, we eat when we eat, we live as we live. In such an existence, the past is over, only memories remain and the future is still a way off because the future builds on present moments. Our mind is like a mad monkey more often than not, it is either brooding upon our past or busy in planning about future, we forget to live in the present, we forget the hard fact that all of us do have a limited life span on planet earth and sooner or later death is a reality. Have you ever realised how fast ‘this moment’ becomes ‘that moment’? So, why don’t we care to find joy in small pleasures that life offers to us? Why are we too busy acquiring wealth more than what is required for living a decent life? Why can’t we take the same delight in giving and sharing as we get in receiving?
