Despite ongoing efforts, police and recovery teams have been unable to locate the body of a student feared drowned after his car plunged into the river at St Estevam ferry point near Old Goa, three days ago.The tragedy was happened on 1 sept at 12:45 AM.

A senior officer from Goa Police informed Herald that,
extensive searches by multiple teams have so far been unsuccessful. The operation has involved expert divers from the Navy, fire and emergency services personnel, and coastal police units, all working to trace the body across the entire river basin.

Terrifying Midnight Chase Ends in Tragedy

The missing person has been identified as 22-year-old Bashudev Bhandari from Gujarat, who has been unaccounted for since late Saturday night. His female companion, a student from Unjha, Gujarat, studying at a management institute in Goa, managed to swim to safety.

According to Old Goa Police

The incident occurred around 12:45 am when the duo, driving a rented car on a weekend outing, was involved in a minor collision with another vehicle at Marcel. In a panic-stricken attempt to escape the scene, they sped away, pursued by an unidentified vehicle.

The chase ended in tragedy as Bhandari lost control and drove onto a ferry ramp, ultimately landing the car in the river at St Estevam.
