Who doesn’t love to travel?

Ah! Travel, travel, travel! Every second person that I meet seems to be talking about flights to the Holy Land or European tour or flying to Dubai for massive shopping spree. My travel is just located within 3702 square km of Goa. A white Alto 800 that takes me wherever I need to be. My precious baby! That’s what I prefer to call my four-wheeler that has rescued me from being late for many occasions and ceremonies.
As I still wait for my hubby dear to surprise me with a tour of my lifetime, I am amazed that my man is quite content residing in amchem Goi. As I still dream and dream, and make do with the Alto that was gifted by my husband, I too am filled with a sense of sheer bliss.
I need to thank my stars! I need to thank my parents! I need to thank my sister! I need to thank my husband! For what? Thank them for being a significant part of my life and moulding me to be who I am and where I am. A place where few reside and precious moments that few treasure. A place where many abandon in search of greener pastures. A place where many keep mumbling ‘Too susegad life! Poor pay! I am not happy at all. What will we do here?’
Ah! My back yelps in sharp pain in sharp contrast to the yells of young Taekwondo learners. Slip disc is a condition that you wouldn’t want your enemy to succumb too. Annoyance at not being able to keep myself slim and petite to travel the seven seas as per my whims and fancies.
What do I do if the travel bugs have not yet sunk their teeth into my tender flesh? Do I gloriously wait for them nimble to begin so that I may find some relief from other sorts of aches and pains? Do I wait to win some foreign trip to see the Alps, surf soon on some Safaris, hike to the Himalayas, or scuba dive and watch some of the Goa’s beautiful coral reefs? Should I wait to visit the land of ‘Down Under’ to see Sydney’s Opera House or tour France to savour the taste buds with one of the country’s best wines and make a feeble attempt to score an up with hubby dearest?
Many rush to the land of 50 states with a green card to put in their best efforts at work. Working alongside with the Americans might not prove easy to many Indians. But our Goans seem to gel easily anywhere in the world. For Goa is a land that many see as confluence of many diverse cultures; some take it to be a Paradise of India.
As I settle on my couch dreaming a many dreams, and cooking yummy edibles prompting my hubby to say, “I will marry you ten times again just for your pulao.” Oh! As I ponder and yonder, my mind traverses the universe to delight in the beauty of simple things.
