PANJIM: A raid by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Mumbai and Sub Zone Goa raid on Saturday led to the arrest of South African national Demetriades Agisilaos for possessing a small quantity of hashish and charas in Goa. 

The narcotics were seized from the house of Agisilaos at Chopdem, Pernem during a joint raid. The accused was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), who remanded him to judicial custody.

According to the NCB, Agisilaos is brother of Gabriella Demetriades, who is the girlfriend of Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal.

Agisilaos was earlier arrested in two other cases registered by NCB, Mumbai for offences under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. He was first arrested in the Bollywood Sushant Singh Rajput drug case in October 2020 and the second time in the Nigerian cocaine case.

In another case on the basis of specific information, the NCB Sub Zone Goa seized 12 LSD blots (commercial quantity) and small quantity of MDMA/Ecstasy pills near Om Lawn, Siolim and arrested Noumaan Savery, 22, a native of Sigolbhata, Durg, Chhattisgarh for illicit possession of the same. 

During a follow-up investigation another accused Siddiq Ahmed, 25, of Hyderabad was also arrested on the charge of criminal conspiracy. A case has been registered against Noumaan Savery and Siddiq Ahmed and both the accused have been remanded in judicial custody.

During investigation, it was revealed that both the accused were working for one Kunal Shinde, who was reportedly running a bar and restaurant at Anjuna.

In another case, NCB, Mumbai and Sub Zone Goa seized intermediate quantity of MDMA/Ecstasy pills near Nagoa Chowk in North Goa and arrested Mayur Mohnani alias Amit, 22 from Ulhasnagar, Thane district of Maharashtra for possessing the same. 

A case has been registered against Mayur Mohnani at NCB, Goa Sub Zone and the accused has been remanded to judicial custody.
