Panjim: State Government has further granted time till February 28 to developers of unauthorized plots to apply for necessary change in zone under section 16B of the Town and Country Planning Act (TCP) or face penal action. 

TCP had earlier granted time till January 26, which was later extended to February 20. The department has asked all those land owners cum developers who have developed their land into non-agricultural plots in non-conforming land use zones and also purchasers of such plots to apply for change of zone under section 16B of the Act to regularize the same. 

 Department has already conducted survey and have identified tentative list of illegal, unauthorized developments of land across Goa. The department was earlier on record to state that nearly 40 lakh sq mtrs of orchard and agriculture land is been illegal converted.
