Margao Sounding Board

One year and still not fixed?

Exactly a year ago the road was cut open besides Saraswat Bank at Margao. This road joins traffic from the coastal belt to Margao town and its entire parking is disrupted because despite this road’s hard shoulder has parking for the nearby hospital. Despite it being a busy road for over 12 months the PWD has refused to repair this road leaving residents, people who visit Margao and the nearby hospital in a jeopardy.

It’s more potholes and less meat

The road besides the Meat Vendors at Gandhi Market is filled with potholes and people frequenting to the market are splashed with water on a daily basis which is an unfortunate sight. Besides, the road’s commuters find it very difficult to man their vehicles as they jostle for parking.

Gandhi Market Entrance is dangerously potholed

The Gandhi Market in Margao gets thousands of commuters every day and most being housewives who walk into the market early morning and at night when the visibility is very low. But the underground drains in the market have caved in due to which many massive potholes have appeared at the entrance of the market thereby making the entrance of market dangerous.

Footbridge entrance

Herald has been campaigning through the year for the two-wheeler footbridge’s entry road to be fixed but that’s what the government seems to have an issue not to fix the bridge. This maybe be the last week of the monsoons and a quick shower on Monday caused inconvenience when the entry to the foot bridge was flooded and was dangerous for two wheelers especially parents taking their children through the flooded portion.
