PANJIM: After the government failed to keep its assurances, workers attached to the PWD Labour Supply Society under temporary status, on Wednesday protested outside Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s private residence at Dona Paula.

The society has 1,400 labourers as its members working on contract over the last several years for the PWD.

According to the workers, in 2012, the Chief Minister had promised to regularise their service by September 30, 2018.

They have now urged the chief minister to fulfil his promise.
