Still no light for trapped French actor in Goa, as the ‘power-ful’ prevent power dept to restore electricity

The govt continues to cruelly look away as Marianne spends another night in darkness, with her ‘security’ pushed out by who she calls ‘hired goons’ sent by those who want to throw her out of her home for 15 years; it’s the second time in 10 days that the power department returns, unable to restore power to her

CALANGUTE: Are the forces behind the plan to oust French actor Marianne Chicherio even more powerful than the power department of the State government?

According to information gleaned on the ground from the neighbourhood of the beleaguered and trapped French actor in her home of 15 years, with bouncers surrounding it, on Tuesday, staff of the local Electricity Department visited the house to restore the power supply connection. However, they were not allowed to enter the property by the security personnel. As a result, the power was not restored, forcing the 75-year-old woman to spend another night in darkness.

Meanwhile, in a message sent to Herald reporter, Marianne said that her security personnel have been told to leave the place by the security personnel of the other party as she is all alone.

Her lawyer, Adv Benny Nazareth has confirmed that in the last one week, the staff of the electricity department visited the place in order to restore the power supply, but every time they were denied entry.

Adv Nazareth said that for the first few days, the “hired goons”(as described in the police complaint filed by Marianne) used to throw stones at the house, get on the roof and make noise.

They had even installed a security camera on the bathroom windows. However, only when Herald started highlighting the plight of the French actress, the situation came under control, and was stopped. Earlier, the police used to not even respond to the calls, but now they do, Adv Nazareth said.

Adv Nazareth informed that the other party is not residing in the house, but still they have kept eight security personnel at the spot, which has no logic.

No reply from CM on Marianne’s urgent call for help
Sunday Jan 29; Marianne wrote to CM Sawant saying “It's not a joke. I’m in front of a dangerous gang. I know you can find the right people (to help me). Please give an order to DGP ‘saheb’ to help me.”
More than 48 hours later she has not heard either from the CM’s office or the DGP’s office offering her any help.
Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, in whose constituency this falls, has maintained total silence on the issue – not a word or statement.
