3 constables depose in Scarlet case

PANJIM, APRIL 7 Three police constables who were attached to Anjuna Police in February 2008 deposed before Children's Court on Wednesday in Scarlet case. Atmaram Gawas who is currently with Anjuna Police Station as constable deposed that he was on duty from 8 pm to 8 am

Three police constables who were attached to Anjuna Police in February 2008 deposed before Children’s Court on Wednesday in Scarlet case.
Atmaram Gawas who is currently with Anjuna Police Station as constable deposed that he was on duty from 8 pm to 8 am when the call was received informing about unknown body found lying on Anjuna beach on the morning of February 18, 2008.
The CBI Counsel S R Rivonkar examined the three witnesses. Defence counsel Ryan Menezes appearing on behalf of accused one, cross-examined the witnessed wherein he informed that his statement was not recorded by CBI and that it was not true that he had given false statement as per instruction of his superiors.
He was also cross-examined by the counsel Nail who appeared on behalf of accused two.
Another constable Kishor Kumar Naik , head constable who was on SHO duty when the incident was reported as also Vishant Chopdekar who was also on duty on PCR Van as driver deposed today.
Two local shack workers Samson D’Souza and Placido Carvalho are facing numerous charges main being culpable homicide not amounting to murder, in this case
