Heads of different religions meet to promote peace

The 20th All Religions meeting organised by world ambassador for peace Shree Sadguru Parwadeshwar
Maharaj was held at Gayatri Peeth, Shree Sadguru Parwadeshwar Maharaj Muth, Bethora-Ponda.
Various religious heads participated in the meet, which was aimed at peace and unity.
The meet began with a palkhi procession of holy religious books and later a yadyna was performed by the
heads representing different religions.
Batim Church, Goa Velha, Parish Priest Fr Micheal Fernandes said this is a noble idea and it must be
supported and will help in eradicating exploitation of religion for political gains.
“This is indeed a unique event, where people from different religions come together and this is how we
should be in our real life. We must stay together and united and then only peace will follow. We must unite
under one system and put an end to religious exploitation for political gains,” said Fr Fernandes.
North Goa MP Shripad Naik said anti-social elements are using religion as tool to spread disharmony and it
is through such meets, anti-social tactics can be rooted out.
“This is a big event aimed at peace and unity. Such kinds of meets are need of the hour as anti-social
elements are sparking religious tensions. We all must come together and make this world a place to live
peacefully and united,” added Naik.
