Pernem man dies in mishap

PERNEM, APRIL 6 A 54-year-old man from Gosaviwado-Korgao, Pernem, died, while his wife was injured, after the motorcycle in which they were travelling collided against a truck along NH-17 at Malpem-Pernem on Tuesday at about 3.30 pm.

A 54-year-old man from Gosaviwado-Korgao, Pernem, died, while his wife was injured, after the motorcycle in which they were travelling collided against a truck along NH-17 at Malpem-Pernem on Tuesday at about 3.30 pm.
According to Pernem Police, the accident occurred when one Shantaram Sitaram Gosavi, who was proceeding on his Hero Honda motorcycle (GA-03-D-4838) towards Mapusa, collided against a truck (MH-07-C-5205), which was proceeding towards Maharashtra.
Gosavi, who sustained serious injuries, died on the way to hospital. It is learnt that Gosavi was the brother of Vikas High School, Valpand, Headmaster Ramchandra. Pernem police arrested truck driver Satyawan Arjun Mandrekar for rash and negligent driving.
