Property worth Rs 1 lakh gutted at Chandel

PERNEM, APRIL 4 Property worth Rs 1 lakh was destroyed, after a plantation belonging to Adv Ramakant Khalap was gutted in a fire at Kolamb-Khutwal-Chandel, Pernem, on Sunday at about 3 pm.

Property worth Rs 1 lakh was destroyed, after a plantation belonging to Adv Ramakant Khalap was gutted in a fire at Kolamb-Khutwal-Chandel, Pernem, on Sunday at about 3 pm.
According to workers at the plantation, cashew, mango and rubber plantations were destroyed.
Pernem fire service personnel claimed that they have managed to save property worth Rs 1.50 lakh.
In another incident, three jersey cows were charred to death, while another three cows were injured, after a cowshed belonging to one Madhu Janu Varak of Dhangarwado-Maplem was gutted in the fire. The loss is estimated to be over Rs 1 lakh.
Tukaram Sawal Dessai, Anand Naik, Rama Naik, Sahadev Chodankar, Vinayak Narulkar, Arjun Dhavaskar and Sahadev Ajgaonkar were involved in both the fire fighting operations.
