Union Bank of India opens Colva branch

MARGAO, APRIL 4 South District Collector, G P Naik has said the GDP will get a boost if the banks invest 10 per cent of their profits in public utility services benefiting social causes. Speaking after inaugurating the Colva branch of the Union Bank of India, Naik further said that citizens must consciously cultivate the habit of saving at least 10 per cent of his monthly income which will spur developmental activities.

Speaking after inaugurating the Colva branch of the Union Bank of India, Naik further said that citizens must consciously cultivate the habit of saving at least 10 per cent of his monthly income which will spur developmental activities.
In his address, Parish Priest of Colva Church, Fr Diogo Fernandes said the residents of Colva should avail the services of the banks in the vicinity instead of going to far away places for banking needs, saying this bank is well equipped with latest facilities such as ATM and lockers. The Union Bank of India was founded by the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on November 11, 1919 and the branch opened in Colva is the 2803 branch in the country, said Assistant general manager, Goa S S Thakur.
Branch manager Laura Pereira, while proposing the vote of thanks, sought cooperation from the locals for mobilising business and thanked everyone for gracing the function.
