After slow start to voting in Goa Panchayat election; voting percentage shoots up to 40% by 12 noon

Voting to elect panchas to 186 village panchayats in Goa started at 8 am Wednesday. A total of 5038 candidates are in the fray. In the first two hours of polling, voting happened at a slow pace with just 19% of votes recorded. By 12 noon the voting percentage had shot up to 40%. The voting was by and large peaceful and incident free till afternoon.
