On Friday, a major drinking water pipeline was damaged during construction work of the retaining wall of Nalla in Davorlim village, causing significant disruptions to the water supply for residents. The incident has resulted in substantial water loss and inconveniences for the affected community. The incident occurred during ongoing construction activities on the retaining wall of Nalla. The construction work machinery contributed to the incident.

Residents of Davorlim village have been severely impacted by the disrupted water supply. Water shortages are being experienced throughout the village, leading to difficulties in carrying out daily activities such as bathing, cooking, and cleaning. The situation is particularly challenging for those households that do not have alternative sources of water.

When questioned, the JCB driver employed for the work of the retaining wall said that he was unaware of the water pipeline and no one had alerted him about the same. He further said that the initial work of digging had started and unfortunately water pipeline was damaged.

The authorities are diligently working for the restoration of the pipeline. However, due to the substantial water loss and the complexity of the repair work, it may take some time to fully restore the supply.
