Goa govt. is destroying Dabolim airport by diverting flights to Mopa airport: Congress

Team Herald

Congress has voiced serious concerns over the Goa government's decision to divert flights from Dabolim airport to Mopa airport, operated by the GMR group. They allege that this move is detrimental to the interests of the state, accusing the government of sabotaging Dabolim airport to benefit a private entity.

The Election Commission, in compliance with a Supreme Court directive, publicly released data on electoral bonds on Thursday. According to Congress, the State Bank of India's disclosure revealed significant contributions from the GMR group in purchasing electoral bonds, totaling around 200 crores. Congress claims that this financial support to the Goa government has led to the favoritism shown towards the GMR group in diverting flights to Mopa airport.

The Congress party has raised these allegations, linking electoral bond purchases to government actions, and called for scrutiny into the relationship between political funding and policy decisions in Goa.
