On the evening of April 21, 2024, at approximately 21:30 hrs, a significant haul of illegal liquor was intercepted on NH-66 highway near Naibag BCP, Pernem, Goa. The suspected individual, identified as Ajit Sukhdev Kambale, aged 26, and hailing from Saneguruji Vasahat Laxmitek Parisar, Kolhapur, Maharashtra, was apprehended red-handed during the operation.
Authorities found a substantial quantity of illicit alcohol in Kambale's possession, meticulously packed for transportation. The seized contraband included 73 boxes of "Golden Ace Blue Fine Whiskey," each containing 12 bottles of 750 ML, totaling 657 liters, with an estimated value of Rs. 2,19,000/-. Additionally, 72 boxes of "Black & Black Rum" were seized, comprising 12 bottles per box, amounting to 648 liters, valued at Rs. 2,16,000/-. The cumulative quantity of the confiscated liquor amounted to a staggering 1,305 liters, valued at Rs. 4,35,000/-.
Kambale was found transporting the illegal liquor in a Grey color Maruti Suzuki Super Carry, CNG Mini Pickup tempo bearing No. MH-43-BX-1620, with an estimated value of Rs. 6,00,000/-.
