Online Betting Racket Busted in Candolim, Goa; Nine Arrested

Accused operating from F-1 villa, Crescent Villa’s, Anawado, Candolim were engaged in illegal online betting during an ongoing T-20 IPL match between Gujrat Titans and Kings XI Punjab

On the night of April 21, 2024, at 11:20 PM, a significant breakthrough was achieved by the Calangute Police Station in Goa, as they apprehended a group of individuals engaged in illegal online betting during an ongoing T-20 IPL match between Gujrat Titans and Kings XI Punjab. Acting upon a complaint filed by Narish Vaigankar, the Police Inspector of Calangute PS, it was revealed that the accused were operating from F-1 villa, Crescent Villa’s, Anawado, Candolim.

The accused individuals were found red-handed, conducting illicit online betting activities on a laptop, deceiving the public by posing as a legitimate organization. Seized as evidence were 01 laptop and 17 mobile phones, totaling an estimated value of Rs. 4,00,000/-.

The arrested individuals are identified as follows:

1.

Tilokkumar M. Chethani, aged 41, son of Mohandas, residing at 81, Sardar Nagar, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

2.

Rocky Karanchand Talreja, aged 35, also residing at 81, Sardar Nagar, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

3.

Pavankumar, son of Mulidhar Manglani, aged 45, residing at ITI Road, Kubernagar, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

4.

Kishan Sushil Lalvani, aged 24, residing at Sardar Nagar, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

5.

Goplani Bharat, son of Satish Kumar, aged 38, residing at Kubernagar, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

6.

Dinesh Bhatiya, aged 47, residing at Naroda, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

7.

Naresh Gelwani, residing at Nehrungara, Naroda, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

8.

Chauthani Rinkukumar, aged 30, residing at Noblenagar, Gujarat.

9.

Ramchandani Manish, aged 37, residing at Kubernagar, Gujarat.

10.

All accused have been taken into custody and charged under relevant sections of the law pertaining to illegal gambling and cheating.
