On Wednesday morning, residents of Calangute woke up with great enthusiasm to vote for the much-delayed panchayat elections. However, voting is on hold in ward no 9 at the Saunta Vaddo booth in Calangute due to a mismatch between the names of candidates and symbols, on the ballot paper. The Returning Officer is investigating the same. The elections are likely to be postponed to Thursday. Locals fear that such incidents will affect the voting percentage.
