SERAULIM: Active Youth Soccobhatt shocked Brazilian Boys 5-4 via the tiebreaker to lift the United Sports Club of Seraulim trophy in the Intra-Seraulim football final of the tournament organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim and played at Our Lady of Pilar Church ground on Sunday.
Both teams were level 1-1 at the end of regular time. Brazilian Boys scored their first goal through Senatro whose power packed 16-yard shot gave no chance to Active goalkeeper Babloo.
Brazilian Boys leading 1-0 at the breather continued their dominance and combined well technically and tactically to created chances for their team. However, Activa custodian Babloo showed some fine reflexes to keep the Brazalian Boys at bay.
When it appeared that the Brazilian Boys would walk away with victory their goalkeeper let the ball slip through his hands in the 40th minute and Manju, lurking around headed home to draw level and extend the game to the penalty shoot-out.
In the tiebreaker, Brazilian Boys scored through Oliver, Ashley, Flosio and Sherwyn whereas Active Youth netted through Nayab, Manju, Azan, Volney and Nanga.
The first president of United Sports Club of Seraulim which was formed in 1982 was the chief guest. Parish Priest Fr Benjamin was the guest of honour while Kennedy Noronha, sports promoter of Seraulim, past presidents Braz, Tiburcio and Poli were also present and gave away the prizes.
