MERCES: Temba scored a narrow 1-0 win over Carmibhatt A to move into the final of the 4th Pogo Boys Cup at Merces church ground, on Saturday.

Temba got the first half underway via Shawyn who took the shot from the centre line which was easily saved by the rivals. Later, Carmibhatt’s Sudeep took a free kick that crashed directly into the Temba wall and went out of play.  Sudeep had yet another chance with a free kick but this time it hits the wall and went for a cornerkick.

Temba's Shawyn then had a shot at goal which but the Carmibhatt goalie Sadanand held onto the ball. A few moments later Temba were awarded yet another free kick this time it was taken by Aston but the strike missed the goal by whiskers.

Temba's Kenned used a good bit of skill and ran down the right flank before crossing the ball to teammate Zico who was deemed to be offside. Carmibhatt Sudeep supplied some fine balls to his teammates but to his dismay the opportunities were wasted by the strikers. At half time the scoreline read 0-0.

Post resumption, Temba finally found the goal they needed in the very first minute of the second half through Agnelo who beat the Carmibhatt's offside trap to stay onside and then shot it past goalie Sadanand.

Temba were a man down after Cedric was shown a red card after a second offense. Despite being a man down, Temba defended and kept out all of Carmibhatt's attack as the match ended 1-0 in favour of Temba.
