UTORDA: Sao Jose De Areal SC beat Rossman Cruz Nagoa, Verna, 1-0 to advance into finals of the Lourdes festival all-Goa inter-village soccer in mem, at SAG ground, Utorda, on Saturday.

Both the teams dished out good football and were looking for a goal. In the 12 minute, Rossman Cruz Verna Striker missed a golden opportunity to give his side the lead. 

In the 14th minute, Sao Jose De Areal counter attacked with striker Alviton Silva who got a beautiful pass from Prisco Maura. But he shot the ball off the target with only goalkeeper to beat.

Just before the end of the first half, Areal’s Fredrick Andrew played in a cross to Hastan Dias who again passed it back to Fredrick who then shot the ball with a lot of power which flew a yard from cross bar.

 Areal found the breakthrough in the 40th minute as Vishal Fernades struck a powerful shot which was passed through a free-kick by Fredrick.
